Cut the Cords!

As many may have heard and even used before, wireless charging is becoming the new trend for both personal and commercial use. We have seen cell phones, laptops, and tablets all come out with their own form of wireless charging. There are certain drawbacks to this technology though. For instance, many of the forms of wireless charging force the use to place the cell phone on a pad, which makes accessibility very difficult while charging. This is a major drawback, and is being worked on. So, it is no secret that cords are going to become obsolete one day, the only question is how soon will that happen?

Ossia is a battery technology company that is working on this development. They have created an over-the-air battery called 'Forever Battery.' The batteries are AA and have a tiny antenna that receives the energy from a transmitter nearby. But CEO of Ossia, Mario Obeidat has a vision to translate that technology to other devices such as computers, laptops, and cell phones the same way Wi-Fi works. This would be very advantageous to many companies throughout the world. Cords need to be maintained throughout their life span, and require technicians to constantly check what's wrong. A lot of the time the issue is as simple as a cord being unplug, but other times it is more complicated. With the use of this technology, companies won't have to worry about that issue any longer.
