Purchasing Organic Food On A Budget

Image
Purchasing Organic Food On A Budget  We are constantly being told about the importance of eating organic. It has many various health benefits including foods with fewer pesticides, chemicals, and less antibiotics. But unfortunately, eating organic is not always cheap, therefore, it can be hard for everyone to buy organic products. As students we can all relate to the struggle of trying to save money in any way that we can. So I am going to discuss ways that you can buy organic products on a budget. Buying in Bulk It is important to buy products in bulk when purchasing organic products. More often than not, there are “Buy One, Get One” sales at your local grocery store  (Food Babe) . Another helpful aspect of buying in bulk is buying products that are not in packages. These are usually items that you can dispense yourself. Taking advantage of opportunities like these can make a drastic difference in your total price at checkout . Buying Online ...

Influencer In The Communications Business

The twitter account that I recently started following is Tham Khai Meng’s account. He is the Co-Chairman and Worldwide Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy & Mather, and he is known to be one of the world’s most influential people in the communications business. After going through some of his tweets, I came across an interesting tweet where Khai tweeted a diagram that explains how storytelling affects the brain. In his tweet, he states, “when we want to persuade someone and move them, we talk to their heart not their head, using stories. As communications people, we are first and foremost story tellers.” He then backs up his statement by providing factual information for his followers to understand how the different components of the brain are affected when storytelling. According to Khai, neural coupling allows the listener to turn the story into their own ideas and experience. With that being said, advertisers are creating stories and presenting the world with creative and well th...

Domino's Giveaway

Image
Recently Domino's had a giveaway of $10,000 cash through the use of Instagram. All customers had to do to enter was to post a picture of their pizza order and use the hashtag '#PieceOfThePieContest.' Through the use of social media, Domino's both excited its customers and marketed their pizza simultaneously. Many people began to post their pictures of the pizza with the hashtag given. This is exciting for customers because it allows them to feel connected to the company, and of course, because they have a shot at winning $10,000. Along with this, the exposure received from this contest was basically free marketing because of how many people began seeing Domino's all over their Instagram news feed.  This giveaway definitely would want me to eat at Domino's. It shows that they are in touch with their customer base, and also care about them. $10,000 might not be a huge hit on a large company such as Domino's, but they understand that ...

Hey Busch Beer- Take me to Daytona!

Image
Hey Busch Beer- Take me to Daytona! You may not drink Busch Beer and you may not be interested in going to the Daytona 500, but Busch’s recent social media marketing campaign had many people wanting to do both. The premise was simple- Busch was sending 500 people to the Daytona 500, choosing from people who posted videos on social media of them finding the lucky checkered flag beer can in a regular case of beer. So why would I want to drink Busch Beer? First, you have the fun and excitement of trying to find that special checkered flag beer can, which feels like winning a mini lottery if you do.  Why not drink Busch over another drink if you can possibly win something? After finding that lucky can though is when the real competition started.  Many people posted their celebration videos to Instagram and Facebook, the latest one being more absurd and flashier than the last.  By the end, it wasn’t even about scoring the trip to the Day...

FUTURE HELP but Same issues What is in store for us for future help? Not wondering about the smart way we now watch our homes, or new technology on our appliances and cars.  Android help!  For someone from the older generation this type of Robot (bot) was such a farfetched idea.  However, you cannot live currently in this day and age and not believe this will truly occur in everyone’s home.  Everyone’s home!  Different models with different functionality and expertise to meet needs and financial incomes.  Definitely, there are benefits to having a bot, someone to do chores, possibly drive you around the capabilities are plentiful. Though we are growing in technology, are we growing in our behaviors and tolerance? All the social issues we are having today will we carry them into this new way of life.  Racism against a technology brand or low tolerance of some bots with certain capabilities.  As I think about this, I can see folks l...

The Secret's Finally Out

I have always had a predisposition to travelling; maybe because I had to travel being a first generation American in a family that travelled back and forth to France and Côte  d'Ivoire, or maybe because I was a navy brat to a naval captain that had been through 13 different schools from first grade to my senior year. Whatever the case, I knew that the world was huge, and that I wanted to see all of it in whatever stage of my life. Being a young and spoiled kid meant that trips were of course sponsored by my parents(something I miss greatly), and in my early twenties, Space A and military travelling were routine luxuries afforded to me by my now ex-husband as we jet setted without cares to faraway lands. Now, at 27, divorced and independent, with student loans from my undergrad degree, I had to find ways and opportunities to travel the world doing what I love, while loving myself enough to be responsible and not go broke in the process. Thats where workaway. info came in for me. S...

Jeanne Hamilton 2nd Post for SW 250

Jeanne Hamilton 8/19/18 Post 2 on Blogger SW 250 Widgets, Clicks & Tweets Good Evening everyone, I just wanted to share a campaign I seen on a bus stop shelter. I can't remember the specifics but it was a University that was advertising that their school was like no other and that their school was not just a school but a experience one shouldn't miss. When I seen the poster I thought maybe that was a school I would like to go to because it was not just a school but a family to be apart of. I am not going to that school, but its not because of a bad ad but because I am already at a great successful family oriented school. The ad got my attention and made me feel included, to attend that university. I am sure others felt that way too that seen it. That ad will probably receive may new students due to this advertisement it presented. The ad was made about the possible student not the success of getting more students but how they could benefit fro...

6 Cycling Tips for Climbing Any Hill (or Mountain)

Image
6 Cycling Tips for Climbing Any Hill (or Mountain) Climbing is the most intimidating aspect of many cycling events. When events post their route details, a lot of people get hung up on the vertical gain. When I talk to riders about doing the Amgen Tour of California Race Experience, Mavic Haute Route Rockies, or even Ride the Rockies, they’re more concerned about the amount of climbing than about the stage distances or the hours on the bike. Rides with a lot of climbing – even 10,000+ feet in a day – don’t have to be intimidating. Here’s what I tell riders. 1. Don’t start too hard A lot of people ride away from me at the bottom of a climb, but I often catch up to them within a few minutes. Whether it’s an hour-long grind up a mountain pass or a big rolling hill, going harder at the bottom is rarely the fastest way to get to the top. Attacking the bottom of a climb may be necessary and a good tactic in a race, but in non-competitive events or timed-...
